The official Jewish Tartan is an authentic Scottish tartan created by heritage experts and rabbis and the only Jewish Scottish tartan registered by the Scottish Tartans Authority. The pattern reflects both religious values as well as Scottish history. The colors, weave, and number of threads have all been picked for their importance in Judaism: the blue and white colors represent both the Israeli and Scottish flags; a central gold line represents the gold from the Ark in the Biblical Tabernacle; the silver represents the silver that adorns many Jewish ceremonial objects; the red represents the kiddush wine; and the seven lines in the pattern represent in Judaism creation, good fortune, and blessing.
